Sixty million years ago, the Baltic Sea was warm, so stately giant trees grew in luxuriant splendor on its shores. Then came the glacial ages, which swept the floral splendor into oblivion. Amber is the golden sap of those prehistoric, now extinct trees. The much prized precious stone has been hardened by time, temperature and and great pressure.
